Members of the LIFE Amphicon project visited Notranjska Park to exchange experiences with the LIFE Stržen team. They were received by Damjan Intihar, a collaborator of the LIFE STRŽEN project, who presented the newly built infrastructure on Lake Cerknica.
The LIFE Stržen project is extremely successful and is reaping good results. We were happy to share our experiences with LIFE Amphicon colleagues and provide them with tips for successful project implementation. LIFE AMPHICON members were thrilled with the new educational path Drvošec, five bird observatories and the interpretation of nature. The LIFE Amphicon project aims to improve the conservation status of target amphibian species in six Natura 2000 sites in Slovenia (Ljubljansko barje, Radensko polje – Viršnica, Dobrava – Jovsi and Bohor), Denmark (Søer ved Tårup og Klintholm) and Germany (Felchowseegebiet). The main activity of the project is the restoration or re-establishment of spawning grounds (planned arrangement of 130 ponds in Slovenia, 30 ponds in Germany and 3 ponds in Denmark) and terrestrial habitats (planned 52 ha in Slovenia, 20 ha in Germany) of target amphibian species.
