On a hot Saturday we strolled through the forests of the Valley Of Natural Bridges. We got to know the natural processes, typical karst phenomena and the flora and fauna of this area. Along the way, Lili from Notranjska okuševalnica was waiting for us with her original home-made snacks and home-made grape juice. Towards the end, we enjoyed the beauty under the Small Natural Bridge in its pleasant shade.
Sunday was filled with useful information and experiences on how to survive in nature. Laris from the Survival in nature association showed us different ways of knitting ropes from the plants that surround us (bark, nettles, roots, grass …). We learned to light a fire with a bonfire, how to set up a bivouac, we got to know some edible plants and how to recognize animal footprints, how to behave when we are in a bear habitat area and much more!
The next time you go into the unknown, we suggest you take with you the five most important things: a container, a tarpaulin, a source of fire, a sharp knife, and a rope. In case you forget all this at home, the only thing that can save you is your valuable knowledge on survival in nature.
The guide of themed activities is financed by the LIFE Stržen project, so it is free of charge for the participants.
