As part of their graduation exams preparations of geography and biology, the pupils of Kamnik High School visited our park. Our biologist Jošt and our geographer Dejvid took them on a trip to learn about the functioning of the most famous intermittent lake in the world, Lake Cerknica, about the origin of karst phenomena, the adaptation of organisms to this extreme habitat and the lives of people along its shores.
This year’s extreme drought enabled our young visitors to take a walk along the lake bottom, which is quite unusual for the end of September and got to know where to the largest Slovenian lake disappears.
Dear school principles, we are sending you our invitation to our park wehere your students will get to know the inanimate and living world of the intermittent Lake Cerknica and experience the exceptional nature of Notranjska Park.
