The LIFE Stržen project team wishes everyone a merry Christmas and a healthy, sociable and joyful New Year, in which as many days as possible should be spent in nature!
It was a little particular, but for us in the LIFE team, a full, successful and joyful year of 2020! We have organized the Themed Weekends, which impressed many participants with their various outdoor activities, we opened the Drvošec Educational Trail, which two months later received the award for the BEST Slovenian Educational trail of 2020, two bulletins Iz tršce with fresh news and plans for the future have been published, we have offered you a new, third video, in which a local working as a national television anchor and TV presenter Katarina Braniselj guides you through the new infrastructure in the park and at the same time draws attention to the exceptional importance of preserving the valuable nature of Lake Cerknica. In the areas of renaturation of the Stržen watercourse, we have started monitoring growth – we will find out how this is restored after the intervention in the Stržen riverbed, to which we returned its natural form. Our Damjan, as an environmental supervisor, constantly monitors the area of Lake Cerknica and monitors inappropriate and harmful interventions in the natural environment. We successfully conducted the creative competition If I Were an Animal and in the autumn we announced a new one – The Future of Our Planet.
We are already looking forward to 2021, which will again be full of new challenges, events, activities, novelties, beauties and changes in the beautiful nature of our Notranjska Park!
