Early in the morning, an evaluation committee of the Tourist Association of Slovenia came to our park to check on our new LIFE’s Drvošec trail. They have chosen it as one of the candidates for the prestigious selection – “THE TOP thematic routes of Slovenia for the year 2020”.

We took the commitee to see the key information / interactive points: the point of Javorniki and Slivnica and the “food chain” spot. Then we offered them breakfast, made of the fruit’s of the nature, and served it at the bird observatory. The food was prepared by a local lady Lili Mahne, who also cooperates with us on most of our LIFE’s thematic weekends – she prepares delicious refreshments for the participants of LIFE’s organized activities. This time, the members of the commission delighted in delicacies from wild plants and fresh smoothies from seasonal fruits and vegetables. They then continued thir way along the Drvošec trail, the footpath of beautiful views.

The evaluation committee was most impressed by the ornithological observatory and our connection with local providers. We explained that guided tours are held every weekend on the Drvošec trail, where we bring together various local guides and providers. We record good attendance and very good response of the visitors. The committee’s members were mostly impressed by the exceptional conceptual design and the realization of the “food chain” point.

 

The strict members of the committee also paid good attention to the safety and orderliness of the route, asked about its funding and its maintenance, expressed satisfaction at the unity and consistency of the route and the systematic nature of the signposts. Despite the cloudy weather, we observed white herons from the observatory, and the sky became clear enough for the committee to be enchanted by the views it offers.
