We are optimisticaly and enthusiasticaly getting ready for the upcoming tourist season in Notranjska park, believing the epidemiological situation will calm down by mid-April. This year, we will also organize our traditional themed weekends, which means that every Saturday and every Sunday there will be a different activity for the visitors, guided by experienced guides. Lately, we have been spending a lot of time with them. We have selected the most interesting and exciting activities from the tender, and these days we are having workshops with their guides. Of course, during the workshops, we strictly adhere to all the prescribed measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections. That`s why we have divided the workshop into four parts with fewer participants, so that there would be a maximum of 10 in the air conditioned and ventilated area, with the organizers and the speakers tested for infection beforehand. We also make sure to disinfect our hands frequently, keep the physical distance and wear masks.
One of the key reasons why Notranjska Park organizes these activities is to train the guides so that later they will be able to offer and implement their activities themselves, as their own products. This is also one of the key activities of the LIFE Stržen project. Notranjska Park offers guides knowledge and capacities, so they will be able to implement them even after the end of the project, based on their practical experience.
The most visited and best evaluated visitors` activities of the previous year are being presented at the workshops. Based on this, the guides are advised on how to create an utmost attractive experience, what they need to pay attention to when guiding it, how to look after the participants, guide them, teach them and have fun at the same time. We also introduce them to the whole process of our themed weekends – from advertising to the visitors` meeting point and to sucess assessment at the end of activity. Each of the guides presents his activity and then we all discuss together on how to best improve and upgrade it. These interactions and discussions are most interesting, so we can not wait to actually begin with our themed activities. The first one is planned on 17 April.
Later on we will go out, to the activities` locations in the nature, to show the guides how to best make use of them and provide them with the basic knowledge about Lake Cerknica, Notranjska Park and LIFE STržen project, which is something they then will have to share with the participants of their tours. The themed activities` list will soon be completed by dates, with descriptions of each of them. What we can already reveal is that there will be cycling trips, guided hikes, art workshops – not only by Lake Cerknica, but also in Rakov Škocjan and Menišija.
