Maksim Gaspari’s birth village, today also one of the villages with most connected villagers. Selšček. It attracts more and more visitors. Also because it bears the prestigious title of the BEST village center in Slovenia. The participants of our today’s activity took a walk in the footsteps of the painter Maksim Gaspari, who was born here. It is in this village that the painter’s bust is standing. Gathering next to it, the visitors listened to the most interesting narration of their local guide, Nataša Mele, who told them about his life and work. On the walk through the village, they admired the boards with Gaspari`s postcards` motives, which all the houses have placed of their fronts. With such an image of the village, the villagers show great respect for the painter and prove their inter-village connection.
In the end, everybody enjoyed Nataša’s delicious and hospitable snack in the renovated traditional Notranjska house, with the year 1884 on the portal, once a coachman’s inn and shop, and relived the life of grandparents for a moment with an old stove, bread oven and other antique objects.
