We trully have carried out an amazing job! In spite of a rainy August. The old proverb has proven to be true in our case – a bad beginning makes a good ending. The situation in the Ključi location, where we were planning the renaturation, didn’t look promising at the beginning; there was rain, the water level was high and the ground was wet. It looked like we weren’t going to begin with our historical procedure until the next year. But we have still made it! The water-bed with its two renewed meanders has been dug up and set up. In the first days of September, the construction workers blocked the old river canal at the upper side of Stržen watercourse, thus directing the river-bed back to its old natural way, and at the same time providing the access to the lands in Veliki Ključ. We have finished works for this year, but everything is set and ready for the next August when the construction machinery is going to build another three of such blocks. The fishermen will carefully fish out the fish and the crabs from the old canal, to then fill it up with dirt.
