There are already 13 thematic weekends behind us! Saturdays and Sundays, each week offering new, different activities in the Notranjska region area. We were rowing through the legend of the creation of Cerknica Lake, made flutes from the lake plants, cycling along the paths of unspoiled nature, riding with traditional horse-drawn hay carriage, visited the underworld, tasted the goodness of nature, we have learned how to survive in the wild, went fishing (we threw the caught fish immediately back into the water), running, producing essential oils, learning old crafts, enjoying the unspoilt beauty of Rakov Škocjan and more and more. Everybody, from the youngest to the eldest, enjoyed our events, led by trained guides and field experts. Again and again we are receiving compliments and assurances of their return.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The previous end of the week smelled like honey. On Saturday our guests were accompanied by the beekeeper Janez Dragolič and walked the “bee path” – a circular bee-keeping way – and found out many interesting facts about the bee family, their food, and diseases of bees, bee products, history of beekeeping,  honeyed plants, and what you must know as a young beekeeper. They have also learned a bunch of less-well-known details from the life of bees, for example: did you know that the bees do not really pick out  the forest honey from the flowers, but out of the honeydew, which is the animal honey, because honeydew is secreted by bugs and then bees drink it. In the end, guests enjoyed some honey-products tasting.

 

Sunday was entirely under the sign of honeyed food. At the local farm Levar in Dolenje jezero, in the immediate vicinity of our disappearing lake, they prepared everything that can even be prepered  out of honey. From the honeyed soup and honeyed ‘potica’ to the cookies with honey. Is your mouth already watering, isn’t it?

 

 

This end of the week, you will be in expert hands of our guides, you will see the most beautiful points of the dissappearing lake. On Saturday you will go on a trip to the Jamski zaliv, where the water of Cerknica lake are flowing together. On Sunday even better  views are promised– views at the highest springs of the lake Cerknica. And you will also hear  about old customs and traditions that were everyday part of life on the lake from experienced representatives of the farm T’dolenj.
