Our partners in LIFE Stržen project are doing something really noble with their own LIFE For Lasca project: with the Italian partner and local fishing families they are trying to prevent the extinction of the South European nase [Lasca] (Protochondrostoma genei). They try to raise the species in captivity and then repopulate it into the tributaries of the Vipava River. The Vipava Valley is the only Natura 2000 site for this species in Slovenia.
