The first themed weekend of this year is behind us. Due to the epidemic and its measures, we have begun with them a little later this year (usually the first one is organized at the end of April), but nevertheless a whole series of fun, educational and interesting adventures is here to evolve in the following weekd.

On Saturday, our first participants cycled around the Menišija plateau. Among them was also a one-year-old who was on a bicycle for the first time in her life (in her father’s chair). Under gray clouds, gusts of wind and rays of sunshine, they experienced a wonderful exploration trip. Along the way, with the explanations of the guides Rudi and Špela, they got to know the natural phenomena of the karst world, forest birds and identified the owners of animal tracks. They were impressed by the Dobec water catchment, the Brejnica spring and the flora and fauna of the Menišija forests. At the end of the trip, a delicious home-made snack from the Notranjska House awaited them.

The activity planned for Sunday – exploring the life of otter – was canceled due to bad weather, but we will carry it out on one of the sunny Saturdays or Sundays in the near future.

The guide of themed activities is financed by the LIFE Stržen project, so it is free of charge for the participants.
