The last Saturday`s themed activity visitors were taken for a walk along the 4-kilometer Drvošec Thematic Trail, by a well experienced guide Jadranka Janeš. They got answers to the questions like where does the Lake Cerknica`s water come from, where the water is now the lake is completely dry? How does this constant change of lake`s state affect its animals, plants, people? After the walk, the participants were taken back to the starting point by a horse cart, on which they could try some home-made delicacies. The Drvošec Educational Trail along Lake Cerknica was awarded the prestigious title of the best trail of its kind in Slovenia by the Tourist Association of Slovenia last year.
Sunday’s participants in LIFE’s themed activity visited the Beekeeper`s Educational Trail, led by a local beekeeper Janez Dragolič. The trail is equipped with boards with educational content about the bee family, their life, feeding and breeding, about the bees` diseases, the bee products, the history of beekeeping, the honey plants and everything a fresh beekeeper needs to know. The participants could watch the bees in front of the apiary, on the excursion board in front of the hive’s throat and inside on the honeycomb. The circular Beekeeper`s trail is 250 meters long and has 13 content points. After walking it through, the visitors indulged in the tasting of honey products.
The guide of themed activities is financed by the LIFE Stržen project, so it is free of charge for the participants.
