The LIFE Stržen has spent the evenings of this past weekend on one of the busiest road thriugh Notranjska Regional Park, making sure the hundreds of amphibians going downt from Slivnica hill to the lake, make it save there. We have joined a group of locals who have been sacrificially carrying the amphibians from one side of the road to the other.

Still, we have manage to rescue many amphibian creatures from fatal car hitting (between Marof and Grahovo and between Goričice and Gorenji Jezero): – 580 common toads – 42 brown frogs – 2 smooth newts  The frogs were collected in buckets and later carried to the other side of the busy road.
