The last LIFE Thematic weekend this year will be dedicated to bird watching with top ornithologist Eva Vukelič. These days, the “peak of the bird season” is starting again, as the time of their migration has come and many of them will fly from all over the world across Lake Cerknica, where many, even those with an exotic appearance, will stop at it. Our lake is a popular resting place for migratory birds, as it is a rich source of food and quiet.
What is floating there just now?
On Saturday, September 26, 2020, visitors will take the canoes to go to the Lake Cerknica and meet its birds. The ornithologist will explain a lot of interesting things about the birds od the lake and above all, she will be able to tell the name and characteristics of each feathered creature that the participants of the activity will happen to notice.
On Saturday, the participants will observe birds from canoes.
On Sunday, September 27, 2020, the participants will go to the lake on foot and, together with the ornithologist, listen to the sounds of the birds that surround us and get to know the world of birds of Lake Cerknica. If you have binoculars at home, bring them with you. We will walk to the newly built bird observatory called Kuharca.
